LearnSuite vs Thinkific: prices, features and when to choose each

LearnSuite and Thinkific compared using prices published on 15 October 2026: feature table, pros and cons of both, and a clear view of when Thinkific is the better pick.

By The LearnSuite team · · 6 min read

Thinkific is one of the best-known course platforms. LearnSuite is a smaller one, built for people who teach their own method and want to sell it in several languages and countries. This comparison puts what each publishes side by side, says where each one wins, and tells you plainly when Thinkific is the better choice. It is part of our guide to the online course platform market.

A note on method: the Thinkific figures were read on its official pricing page on 15 October 2026. The page showed euros through geolocation and has some internal inconsistencies (communities and Grow-plan support), so confirm the amounts before you decide. Where we could not verify something, we say so.

Where Thinkific wins

Let us be direct: in many cases Thinkific is the better option.

  • Entry price. You start at €39 a month billed annually. On LearnSuite the revenue share has no fee (it keeps 20% of sales) and Starter costs €99 a month plus 8%. If you are testing an idea, work out which one comes out better at your expected sales.
  • Capacity. 10,000 active learners and unlimited courses from the cheapest plan.
  • Community included. If your model mixes courses and a members space, Thinkific has it. LearnSuite is not a community platform.
  • Unlimited coaching and webinars from Start.
  • Ecosystem. Its home page lists a drag-and-drop course builder, SCORM import, coupons, bundles, automated sales tax and VAT, B2B invoicing and AI tools for course outlines. LearnSuite also has coupons (per course or academy-wide, percentage or fixed amount, with an expiry date, a usage limit and the option to tie one to an email address); automated sales email funnels are not available today.
  • A branded mobile app, even if it is a paid add-on.
  • A longer trial: 30 days against 14.

Where LearnSuite wins

  • Multi-language content as a workflow. Each lesson has one version per language with states (draft, translated, dubbed, reviewed, published), and nothing goes live without review. It helps if you sell the same method in Spanish, English and Portuguese. For costs and scope, see subtitles or dubbing.
  • Zone pricing. Institution lets you set each course's price by geographic zone and tie the licence to the territory. For Thinkific we could not verify per-country price parity on 15 October 2026.
  • Paid 1:1 sessions built in on every plan: instructor schedule, payment at booking, reminders and a cancellation policy.
  • A per-academy AI tutor on every plan, against a single plan (Plus) on Thinkific.
  • Protected video with a visible watermark and a device limit. More in protecting your course videos.
  • Verifiable certificates with a public page on all three plans.

Pros and cons of both

Thinkific, pros: lower fixed fee, 10,000 learners, community and coaching included, a wide ecosystem. Cons: white label only from Grow (€159 a month billed annually), few admin seats on the lower plans (1 on Basic, 2 on Start), AI tutor on Plus only, and we could not verify the platform transaction fee or the third-party gateway fees.

LearnSuite, pros: language workflow with review, zone pricing, paid 1:1, AI tutor, protected video and certificates from Starter. Cons: higher fixed fee (Starter at €99 a month plus 8%), no free plan (the revenue share has no fee, but keeps 20% of sales), no community space, no automated sales emails, and lip-sync dubbing is an assisted process: there is no button that hands you a dubbed lesson with no human involved. It is bought in packs of 100 minutes at €490. Also, plan limits on learners, languages and zones (500 active learners and 3 languages on Professional) are recorded on the subscription, and we do not present them as an automatic cut-off.

When to choose Thinkific and when LearnSuite

Choose Thinkific if you mostly sell in one language, need a community inside the same product, have a tight budget, or want a branded mobile app.

Choose LearnSuite if the method is yours and you sell it in several languages and countries, you want to review each version before it goes live, you need different prices by zone, or you also sell 1:1 mentoring and want payment and calendar in the same academy.

A middle path: start both free trials and build the same lesson in each. In one afternoon you will know which fits how you work. To think through your course price before choosing, read how to price an online course. If you doubt between your own platform and a marketplace, see own platform or marketplace.

What we could not verify

On 15 October 2026 we could not verify on Thinkific's site: video protection, AI dubbing, per-country price parity, whether it acts as merchant of record for VAT, or the per-transaction platform fee. We also tried to re-read the pricing page in a browser and it was blocked by a security check, so custom-domain and certificate availability by plan comes from an earlier read the same day. If any of these matters to you, ask Thinkific in writing.
